Missing computersHello,
I have an annoying problem with the computers of the domain sometimes not showing up when browsing the domain in the explorer. The computers are online and I can ping them or find them if I do a search. Is this anomaly a normal behavior of windows or have I configured the server incorrectly? Staffan Langin I forgot to mention that this is happening when browsing the domain from a
client. It might be true for the server aswell but I haven't seen it so far. had the same problem when our server was running win nt server several years ago. i thought that it was because of some trust settings. after we upgraded to win2k3 server several years ago i checked the ip address of some clients and found outthat they were on a different IP group. 192.168.1.x and 192.168.10.x so there were 4 computers bought at the same time and the administrator then assigned the 192.168.10.x to these 4 client. when he was replaced with another lan administrator and we bought another set of computers he assigned the 192.168.1.x. the 4 computers could see the server but could not see the other computers in the domain. when we changed all the clients to the 192.168.0.x then it solved the problem. hth <cadgu***@hotmail.com> wrote in message
