Does printing from command-prompt use the printers preferencesMy HP 4100N printer is connected to my Win 2003 server through Standard
TCP/IP port, and shared as \\server1\HP4100. I have configured printing preferences for this printer to default take paper from tray-2 (it has tree trays (1-3)). When I print to this printer from a Windows application (i.e. Notepad) on Server1, it takes paper from tray-2 - wich is the default tray. So that is OK. But, when I print to this printer from the command-prompt on Server1, it takes paper from tray-3 (not the default tray). I use the "net use lpt1: \\server1\HP4100" command for this. And when I print, I type "dir > lpt1:" How can I configure printing preferences for printjobs sent from the command-prompt to a printer-share, so that it comes out on tray-2? Thanks for reading.
