Does Win2003 SP1 include this patch: ArticleID: 819760

Hi,
I have been holding off installing this patch on one of our servers:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=819760
"Windows turns off the power after it shuts down the computer if a program
calls the ExitWindowsEx or the InitiateSystemShutdownEx function"

Because it was listed as an update in the SP1 Beta installation. I have just
had a look at the SP1 RC updates at:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824721

And it's not in the list.

Does anybody know if this is in fact in the RC for SP1 or will I need to
contact MS product support for the patch?

Thanks and Regards,
Phil Persson

Phil;
If it is not listed, it is not included.
Contact Microsoft as suggested on the article.
State you are calling about a hotfix and you will not be asked for billing
information.

Such hotfixes are normally for a limited number of computers and also not
always as thoroughly testes, thus they are not part of Service Packs or
available for direct download.

Thanks - I'll contact MPS.

I just found it interesting that it was included in SP1 Beta and not the
actual RC.

Phil;
I do not know why other than to guess they felt it was insufficiently
tested.

Just some more info on this.
I have contacted MPS and apparently this patch is included with SP1, it's
just not listed in the included updates for whatever reason.

I have installed SP1 on a test box and it does indeed have the updated
features in it.

Thanks,
Phil Persson
