I've just got a Windows 2003 server, I have enabled the windows firewall.  I
would like file sharing to be unblocked, can someone tell me which ports (or
whatever else) I need to enable to get filesharing up and running again.

Thanks.

Windows 2003 has a pre-defined exception named 'File and Printer Sharing' -
simple enable the exception.  (Note:  You might want to look at the scope
the rule applies to.  I think by default it is the local network.)

I tried checking the 'File and Print Sharing' option, but it still blocks
file sharing, looking at the properties it is set to UDP port 139, is this
the correct value?

Consider W2k3 SP1 as it gives much better control in the new Windows
Firewall, available at:

         http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/default.mspx

On the same page, links to technical info on this and other topics can be
found.

Do let us know if this helps. Thanks!

If I can't manage it the easy way I'll have a go with the service pack.
