Server logon screen BlankHas anyone seen this problem with Windows 2003 storage server (64bit) having display issues? It was working fine before, if I remember, I installed windows patches, and Symantec AV, then I started to have problem login on to server console, tried different monitors, same. Screen is Blank, can't get the logon screen at the console, I can see and move mouse no problem. I was able to use remote desktop (without console option) untill I patch windows again and I re-boot (because of the above issue), but now, I can not connect using terminal services also File Server is running, and people access to their folders no problem.... (mapped drives) I can access server services and event logs from my computer and nothing in the event log. I see a lot of people having the same issue, but no solutions yet? MC

I shut down second time remotly (shutdown -f -r -m \\Fileserver)
server came back up as normal for now, I see a lot of people having same issue, but this worries me with windows pathces (it may have something to do with) No clue as to what I can do next time this happens, or what the cause. When it comes to production server, we are damned if we patch which can cause big problem, we are damned if we don't patch with virus I am not sure If task manager would be launced while no one has logged in to server console, or if logon screen is at the background waiting for someone to logon (but can't see) MC Show quoteHide quote "Pegasus (MVP)" <I.***@fly.com> wrote in message news:OLuDVVhKHHA.4384@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > > "CAMC1" <webmas***@ozoptics.com> wrote in message > news:efHHuedKHHA.4244@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > > Hello, > > Has anyone seen this problem with Windows 2003 storage server (64bit) > having > > display issues? have any remote login capabilities and this is our small non-profits only server. Ideas? Ctrl-Shift-Esc didn't change anything, assuming that it's because I wasn't logged in. I started another post before I found this called "No Windows Logon Dialog Box after Idle". Please let me know if you figure out how to repair your server. After I started up the server second time, I don't seem to have this problem
so far. I have no clue, and no one seem to have idea what the cause may be. I guess you can say one of the dark holes windows had. (May have been the windows patches caused, or AV software or something else) MC Show quoteHide quote "imscomputer" <imscompu***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E18608B1-6C05-4A27-986B-76EC4688A702@microsoft.com... > I'm having the same issue with 32-bit Windows 2003 Server. If the console is locked the problem doesn't surface. It only seems to occur when I am completely logged out. Peace, c
