2003 DNS recordEveryone,
I've installed some web based software on a new 2003 server with AD. I would like to enter a DNS record so that users can enter a name (that of the software application) rather than the IP address or machine name to reach to the web app. I'm not sure which type of record or where to enter it (in forward or reverse lookup)? I hope I've provided enough information. Thanks, -- Peter Parker Peter Parker wrote:

I'm assuming that you already have an A record for the server itself in DNS, but now you want to be able to provide a "web friendly" name. Fr this you want a CNAME Record. -- Legal Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
