DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreInstall Directory causes my backups to failWhat is this directory, and can I delete it? It is in the sysvol directory
with two other folders called policies and scripts. Backup Exec 9.1 will NOT backup this file, and causes the backup report to say that the job failed every time! Is this an important directory? If it fails on my backups, then would my restores fail, as well? I think the presence of that folder means there were replication problems
with the File Replication Service, check for FRS events in your event logs... -- Show quoteHide quoteCheers, Mitch Tulloch ============================ website: http://www.mtit.com weblog: http://itreader.net ***This message is provided "as is" with no warranties, and confers no rights*** "darlad(no respon***@amsmainline.com" <darladnoresponseamsmainline***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:60F0E108-C619-46B4-A87F-AD8AB1B7BA01@microsoft.com... > What is this directory, and can I delete it? Warning: Unable to open "c:\windows\SYSVOL\domain\DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreInstall_Directory" - skipped. Reason: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. See this about a Hotfix, maybe it will help. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;822132 "darlad(no respon***@amsmainline.com" <darladnoresponseamsmainline***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message Show quoteHide quote news:60F0E108-C619-46B4-A87F-AD8AB1B7BA01@microsoft.com... > What is this directory, and can I delete it? but because it skips this directory, I get "failed" on the report, so I always have to look to check if that is the only reason the job failed. I'd rather see 100% completion. I'll look at the KB you referred to. We were getting some FRS errors in the event log a month or so back, but that's been taken care of, and we have not had any FRS errors since. fixed in SP1 so unless you want to pay $$$ you'll have to keep checking those reports till SP1 is released. -- Show quoteHide quoteCheers, Mitch Tulloch ============================ website: http://www.mtit.com weblog: http://itreader.net ***This message is provided "as is" with no warranties, and confers no rights*** "darlad(no respon***@amsmainline.com" <darladnoresponseamsmainline***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:49ACAE13-1AEB-456B-8A7D-8DCEC6DFBFE6@microsoft.com... > Well, when I say it fails, it doesn't really FAIL.
