How can I use all of 4Gb under Windows Server 2003 Ent?I have CPU Pentium 4 506 2660 on the motherboard GA-8I945GMF and 4Gb RAM. In
specification of this motherboard is text: "4 DDRII DIMM memory slots (supports up to 4GB memory) * * Due to standard PC architecture, a certain amount of memory is reserved for system usage. For example, 4GB of memory size will instead be shown as 3.xxGB memory during system startup." When computer is starting I see only 3.24GB in BIOS. Windows Server 2003 R2 Ent x86 see only 3.24GB. Windows Server 2003 R2 Ent x86 with /PAE key dont start quite. Windows Server 2003 R2 Ent x64 see only 3.24GB. Please help me! I want to use all of 4Gb. Shurick wrote:

I want to use all of 4Gb. To test this: (1) Install only two sticks (because of dual channel) (2) Boot your system and see how much RAM is listed. (3) Install the *other* two sticks (4) Boot your system and see how much RAM is listed. (*) One the of two configs will have a different amount of RAM listed than the other if you have a bad chip. (5) If so, take a stick from the known good pair and install it with one of the sticks from the known bad pair. (6)If the one you installed first comes up good, then try the other stick from the "bad" pair just to be sure, but it is probably bad. I know my wording is about as clear as mud, but you should get the idea. If you need further clarification, do not hesitate to ask. -- Travis MayDay Computers On 32-bit systems, the PCI bus consumes from half a GB to three quarters of
a GB of address space. So 4GB of ram will almost always report as less memory. Your motherboard specification is telling you that you simply won't wee 4GB of memory, so testing your memory is a waste of time. Mike Ober.
