Windows Media ServicesGiven that some updates cannot be applied without server restart, what would
happen to windows media encoders pushing the content to my windows media server when I reboot it? Do they keep trying until it comes back online? Is there a timeout period? Do I have to go to each of the encoders and restart the push process? I am looking for a reliable uniterruptable streaming but cannot afford two streaming servers, hence this doubt Thank you. In that case it will always have to go down. Don't have much options for you but a 2nd server. regards Thanks Freaky, but if im running a single streaming server and it reboots
(voluntarily or not), will the stream sources/encoding PC´s stop streaming to my server, thus requiring manual reconnect. This has the obvious impact that if there are 10 encoding sources and my server goes down, then I have to connect to each of those PC´s and force a reconnect Question: does windows media encoder keep pushing the stream until my server comes back online, avoiding the need to force a reconnect? Thank you.
