ADPREP Failed for upgrading to Windows 2003

Small W2K domain with 3 DCs, 2 Exchagne 2003, less than 40 users
All Ecxchanges upgarde to 2003 Entereprise without issues.
DCs are all with SP4 with latest patches

ADPREP failed with
Adprep Log Showing:
Adprep was unable to update forest-wide information.

SCHUPGR LOG Showing:
Current Schema Version is 13
Upgrading schema to version 30
ERROR: Failed to transfer the schema FSMO role: 52 (Unavailable).

Checked replications between the DCs. All tests as per directive gave no
errors.

Request help.

Did you transfer the Schema Master Role over to the DC you were performing
the adprep /forestprep or did you do this on the Root DC (on the assumption
that the fsmo roles are still managed by the root dc)

Root DC was holding all FSMO roles. Never any was moved.
Thanks. Issue is resolved now.
After franatic searching, found that one of the DC was updated with SP4 but
updates after SP4 were not installed. Once latest updates after SP4 installed
ADPRER went smoothley ahead.
