Windows Server 2003 SP1Hi,
The last thing I heard from Microsoft, they were planning to release SP1 by the end of March and were on track to meeting this date. Any news or updates on this? The only thing Microsoft has stated is first half 2005: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/lifecycle/servicepacks.mspx Anything else is just rumour. -- Show quoteHide quoteJupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar In memory of our dear friend, MVP Alex Nichol http://www.dts-l.org "jack tinker" <j*@tex.com> wrote in message news:42409d39$0$15540$892e0abb@auth.newsreader.octanews.com... > Hi, > > The last thing I heard from Microsoft, they were planning to release SP1 > by the end of March and were on track to meeting this date. > > Any news or updates on this? > > > Cheers, > JT > Jupiter,
I watched a webcast around end of feb/start of march. The guy from Microsoft said it would be released on that date. He also said Microsoft had already deployed in house and were well on track to meeting that date. Do you think he was making that up? Post a link to the webcast. Microsoft is normally very careful not to be specific about future events since so many things can happen to change the schedule. -- Show quoteHide quoteJupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar In memory of our dear friend, MVP Alex Nichol http://www.dts-l.org "jack tinker" <j*@tex.com> wrote in message news:4241a671$0$199$892e0abb@auth.newsreader.octanews.com... > Jupiter, > > I watched a webcast around end of feb/start of march. It's quite funny, he said the new motto is that they are hard core about meeting the release dates :-) JT Show quoteHide quote "Jupiter Jones [MVP]" <jones_jupi***@hotnomail.com> wrote in message news:uRBGj%238LFHA.3380@TK2MSFTNGP15.phx.gbl... > Who is "he" ? > Post a link to the webcast. > Microsoft is normally very careful not to be specific about future events > since so many things can happen to change the schedule. > > -- > Jupiter Jones [MVP] > http://www3.telus.net/dandemar > In memory of our dear friend, MVP Alex Nichol > http://www.dts-l.org > > > "jack tinker" <j*@tex.com> wrote in message > news:4241a671$0$199$892e0abb@auth.newsreader.octanews.com... >> Jupiter, >> >> I watched a webcast around end of feb/start of march. Thus there is no guarantee of the date mentioned. It is unusual for a specific date to be public mentioned this early. -- Show quoteHide quoteJupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar In memory of our dear friend, MVP Alex Nichol http://www.dts-l.org "jack tinker" <j*@tex.com> wrote in message news:4241b14e$0$195$892e0abb@auth.newsreader.octanews.com... > Sorry didn't catch the name, however take a look for yourself... > > http://msevents.microsoft.com/cui/r.aspx?t=4&c=en-us&r=5702995 > > In particular, 'Slide 21' will confirm what I said. 1) MVPs are not Microsoft employees. 2) Microsoft's website will only tell us the 1/2 of 2005 If what you (other poster) is saying is true that Microsoft is well underway in deploying in-house, it means that they dog-fooding their own product looking for things you and I never want to see in our environment (blue screens of death). If they find serious flaws, they still have time to fix before the June 2005 date. If they find none and they get done early, then bully for us because it means we see the final bits a little sooner. Either way, I would prefer it being "right" than rushed.
