DHCP RELAYHello. I'd like to setup DHCP relay on my network. I'll have a firewall
forwarding DHCP requests to my 2003 server. What do I need to setup in DHCP to make this work? Do I need Routing and Remote Access setup for the server to receive these requests? Thanks "Dan" <D**@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message "Hello. I'd like to setup DHCP relay on my network. DHCP is based on the BOOTP protocol, a broadcast protocol used to support diskless workstations. Because of its broadcast format, the DHCP packets are blocked by routers. In Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 the relay agent is configured through Routing and Remote Access. http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/proddocs/en-us/mpr_how_dhcprelay.asp http://www.serverwatch.com/tutorials/article.php/2193031 http://www.ezine.com/QandA/DHCPRelay.html -- Todd J Heron, MCSE Windows Server 2003/2000/NT; CCA ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This posting is provided "as is" with no warranties and confers no rights. is define the subnets in the DHCP server. -- Show quoteHide quote- "Dan" <D**@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:297EEE77-58CF-48EC-A605-874B999C86F0@microsoft.com... > Hello.
