Desktop Background on Win2003 Remote DesktopHi, is there a way to display the desktop background when I run a
remote-desktop session to a Win2003 server? When I connect to a Win2000 server I do get the desktop background, but when I connect to a Win2003 server I don't. Any ideas? Is this by design? Thanks. -christos in mstsc show experience tab

get the background if I connect to a Win2000 Server not if I connect to a Win2003 server. It looks like it is a configuration at the Server side. 1. go to the following registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\UserOverride\Control Panel\Desktop and delete the "wallpaper" entry 2. then go to the Terminal Services Configuration, go to RDP-Tcp properties, toggle any setting/checkbox, and press OK so that the service re-reads the info from the registry. christos Show quoteHide quote "Christos Kritikos" wrote: > Hi, is there a way to display the desktop background when I run a > remote-desktop session to a Win2003 server?
