Server "uptime" count increases 4 seconds per second?

After taking a look at a HT'ed dual processor machine's uptime, I
noticed something rather bizarre. Every second, the "uptime" of System
Idle increases 4 seconds instead of just 1 second. So now, our server
shows an uptime of some 39,000 hours (yet it's real uptime is just 9800
hours).

Anyone else notice this?

I think this is referring the the total cpu time of system idle across all
logical processors, so if you have a 2P/HT machine it will be a multiple of
the four logical processors.

I would say if you disabled HT you would see it at 200% of real time.

You can issue the command "net statistics server" to get the real uptime, it
will read "Statistics since..." at the top of the command output.
