removing a user shared folderIn my event viewer server 2003 I get the following error
The server service was unable to recreate the share (username) because the directory no longer exists. Please run net share to delete the share or recreate the directory. This person had a shared drive created for them. They no longer work here so they have been removed from active directory and their shared drive has been removed as well. Is there somewhere else that they need to be removed from as they are still being recognized. Go to Computer Management (in Administrative Tools) and go into the System
Tools->Shared Folders->Shares section. You'll find a share that points to the shared drive that no longer exists. Just right click and choose Stop Sharing. After that you should be all fixed up. Good luck! - Eric. from AD are not in the shares section. After I performed some security updates to the server and the server rebooted the event viewer displayed the messages about the users still being there but they are not in the section you mentioned but I find traces of them in the registry.
