LAC Properties OddityOn my gigabit ethernet card, I've added a static address, click apply and
then close the control panel. Whenever I go back into the control panel, instead of my static address it shows 0.0.0.0 and not the static IP address I've entered. If I go into advanced, it shows both the 0's and the static address. What gives? Any ideas? Thanks, Dan Hello Daniel,
Make sure you use the latest NIC drivers. Thank you for posting here. According to your description, I understand that: IP address 0.0.0.0 is automatically added on your computer. If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me know. For further investigation, please answer the following questions: 1. What is the operating system that your server/workstation is running on? 2. For a clean understanding of your issue, could you please take a screenshot of the issue in Control Panel and send to me at v-mil***@microsoft.com. 3. Please also collect the "route print" and "ipconfig /all" output from the problematic server/workstation. 4. Please try the following to see if it works: a. Click Start , type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. b. Locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters c. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value . d. Type ArpRetryCount . e. Right-click the ArpRetryCount registry entry, and then click Modify . f. In the Value data box, type 0 , and then click OK . g. Exit Registry Editor. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.
