Roaming profiles and Vista
and I added the PC to our Windows Domain. We use roaming profiles and redirected folders with our XP and 2000 clients. There were some things I needed to do to get this to work with Vista and for the most part I think it is. One thing that I am noticing though is when I am at home and I log into my computer using my domain account I get a message that my profile didn't load correctly. I would get this similar message with my XP machine, but it would load my system up looking exactly as it did if I were connected to my corporate network. With the Vista machine 2 things are happening. It is not loading my Quick Launch icons and when I click to get on Internet Explorer it loads internet explorer but I can't browse any websites. If I log out under my domain account and into a just a Vista local account the machine runs just fine and I can get connected to the internet. When logged in under the Domain account there are no Proxy servers we use at work and like I said before my XP machine would run fine when logged into the domain account from home. Part of me is wondering is the Quick Launch Icons not setup for being available offline. I did notice with my redirected desktop and documents that I could access them without any problems. So that is why I am lead to believe that maybe the Quick launch stuff is not set to be available offline. If that is the case where in the profile is that stuff located? As for the Internet Explorer not doing anything that might be a differerent story. Hope someone has some ideas. Thanks! Scott Micale <hrm_admin@news.postalias> wrote:
