Win32time problem

Deborah

I am consistently getting error messages on the domain controller I am
using the synchronize time with an Internet time server (at NIST). I
have checked their web site to make sure that the server names are
correct in my configuration. The event IDs are 38, 47 and 29, indicating
that the time server cannot be reached or that the server is "receiving
invalid time data". This is a Win2K3 domain, with SP1 installed on this
server, although the other servers in the domain have not yet been
updated. My firewall is set to allow incoming and outgoing packets on
port 123. I also edited the registry for the W32Time service per KB
article 875424. However, I'm still seeing the error messages on the
server. Any ideas?

Set the PDC for sincronize the clock local and the stations sincronize
automaticaly with the PDC.

Deborah

Thanks for your response, Andre, but that will not get the result I
want. The point of synchronizing with an outside time source is to be
sure that the servers and workstations always have the correct time.
Although this is not mission critical in the case of this company, it is
preferable.
