NTBackup running, but not creating backup file or logs

I have a scheduled task to run ntbackup which has not been running
correctly. At the proper time, the backup will actually start, as I
can see ntbackup.exe in the Task Manager processes. However, it won't
update the backup file (which is written to an external USB drive). It
also won't create any backup logs.
Any advice? Is it better to use batch file scripts??

Thanks.

Hello,

I had a similar problem and I found that RSM was not refreshing and thats
why It was not kicking the backup jobs. I made a script to refresh RSM and I
am running this before the backup schedule (probably 15 mins prior).
My script has the following command:

rsm.exe refresh /lf"off-line Media"

where "off-line Media" is my Media Library. There is a KB article on the
same too.
I hope this will help you.

Thanks,

Gigs
