Windows 2003 SP2 SNMP changes / Printers OfflineAfter installing SP2 I've noticed about 10 of my 120 printers were Offline. I
understand that there's a change in the way SNMP status is handled in SP2. I can't seem to find any documentation on what's changed between SP1 and SP2. I've un-checked the SNMP Status Enabled box in my printer ports for now, but would like to try and understand what the real issue is. -- Sandy Wood Orange County District Attorney Fix windows and pc errors, click for free system scan I got the same problem. This has changed in SP2 and now the printer status is reported as offline if the printer does not respond to snmp. See this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923218 To solution is to enable SNMP on the printer or uncheck SNMP status enabled box.
