Windows Server 2003 SP2 and Canon Image Runner 3300Hi,
I have a Windows Server 2003 SP1 and a Canon Image Runner 3300 multi function printer attached to it. The server is a print server. When I tried to install Windows Server 2003 SP2 on it, the printer went offline. When I removed SP2, the printer went back online. I contacted Canon and they were clueless. Has anyone experienced this issue yet? I understand because SP2 is pretty new. -- Thank you for your help! JYC Could it be a firewall issue?
When SP2 is installed then firewall is switched on. Try stopping the firewall service after installation and see if that allows the printer online again. Apparently SP2 changes the way SNMP works. As a workaround try this.... Open the printer properties and go to Ports. Select the Port and click Configure Port. Uncheck the "SNMP Status Enabled" check box. This brought my printers back online. Now I've got to dig a bit deeper to find what the real fix is. -- Show quoteHide quoteSandy Wood Orange County District Attorney "Mr. JYC" wrote: > Hi, > > I have a Windows Server 2003 SP1 and a Canon Image Runner 3300 multi > function printer attached to it. You are a hero. Couldn't get any help from the Canon UK site. All our 3300's are now working again.
