2 same name domains on same network wire...Company abc.com bought xyz.com, both Windows 2000.
I want to rebuild the xyz.com and then have it join the abc.com. They both have Exchange 2000 Servers. I have no problem rebuilding the second domain and having it join the domain. My question is, while xyz.com is operational and in production, can I create a new xyz.com on the same network wire ( with different IP addresses) but not have anyone in the production domain point to it or use the new domain yet. I am concerned about broadcasts from the new domain on the wire. Thanks, Tom... A lot depends on how you have structured your network (DNS, DHCP, WINS and
routers) and network monitoring devices. The trickiest part is going to be AD. As part of best practices, I would redesign XVZ.com in a sandbox and then test it over one weekend when users are off and then deploy over another weekend when users are off the network -- Show quoteHide quoteGood Luck!
