I have an adaptec 21610 SATA raid controller in my server and one of the
drivers for the controller is aaccin.dll . but when I install Veritas Backup
exec v9.1 the aaccin service fails to start. It states that it cannot find
the file. upon going into the registry I see the service is looking foir the
file system32\drivers\aaccin.dll , so I look for this file and I can see it
in the drivers folder, but the icon looks very strange. it looks like a
regular dll icon, except it has a small black icon with the figure of a
clock, much like when you create a shortcut, it places a small arrow in the
lower left corner of the icon, well this is a small clock in the lower left
corner of the icon. I have never seen this before and do not nknow what this
represents. as well, when I normally right click a dll and select
properties, you can see info such as version, company name etc. but all this
information has disappeared. Has any every seen this behaviour with a dall
before? also to note, when I look at the install files for the driver for my
controller card, the dll is normal (without the little black clock and
displays version info, etc.)

Have you tried simply deleting the file (sending it to the recycle bin)
or renaming it and then try replacing the file with the original file
from the installation disk?

Have you also seeked any software updates ?

Yes, I have replaced the file with the original and still get the same
error. I am more curious as to what the little black clock over top of the
icon is. it seems like it is something the operating system placed there
much like the shortcut arrow on shortcuts.
